How to use this test

1
Prepare the test materials

Allow the test cassette, specimen, and controls to reach room temperature (15-30°C) before starting.

Ensure the donor has not consumed food, drink, gum, or tobacco products for at least 10 minutes prior to collection.

2
Collect the sample

Remove the collector from the sealed pouch. Insert the sponge end into the mouth, swab around the gums and under the tongue, and chew the sponge gently.

Place the sponge under the tongue for 2-3 minutes until fully saturated. Press the sponge against the teeth to help saturation, ensuring no hard spots remain.

3
Transfer the sample

Take the collection chamber out of the sealed pouch and unscrew it. Remove the saturated collector from the mouth and place it into the collection chamber.

Press the sponge fully against the strainer to release the oral fluid to the arrow point level. Screw the cap back on lightly, shake the chamber gently for 10 seconds, and then leave it for 10 minutes.

4
Prepare the test

Remove the test cassette from its sealed pouch and place it on a clean, level surface.

Shake the collection chamber gently again for 10 seconds, snap the tip open, invert it, and transfer 3 drops of the oral fluid sample into the specimen well (S) of the test cassette. Start the timer.

5
Read the results

Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read the results at 5 minutes, but do not read results after 15 minutes.

For the alcohol strip, read the results between 3-5 minutes.

Compare the colour of the reaction pad with the provided colour chart to determine the relative alcohol level.

6
Interpret the results

Negative:A coloured line appears in the Control region (C) and the Test region (T).
Positive:A coloured line appears in the Control region (C) but not in the Test region (T).
Invalid:No coloured line appears in the Control region (C). Repeat the test with a new kit.

How sensitive is this test?

Here’s the sensitivity level for each drug included in this kit:

  • Amphetamines (AMP) – 50 ng/mL: Detects amphetamines at or above 50 ng/mL, indicating recent moderate to high use.
  • Benzodiazepines (BZO) – 10 ng/mL: Sensitive to benzodiazepines, identifying levels at 10 ng/mL or higher, capturing both therapeutic and recreational usage.

  • THC - Cannabis (THC) – 50 ng/mL: Highly sensitive to THC at 50 ng/mL, making it effective for detecting recent cannabis use.
  • Synthetic Marijuana (K2) – 25ng/ml

What should I do if the test result is positive?

A positive result on your Rapid Saliva Drug Test indicates the presence of one or more substances in your system. First, carefully review the instructions to ensure the test was performed correctly, as any mistakes could impact accuracy. If you’re unsure, using a new kit to retest can help confirm the result.

For situations involving workplace screenings or legal matters, it’s advisable to follow up with a lab-based test. Laboratory testing provides a more detailed and accurate analysis, offering reliable confirmation of the initial findings.

If the result is unexpected or concerning, consider reaching out to a healthcare professional. They can provide insights into possible reasons for the result, discuss any health concerns, and recommend appropriate next steps.

Can any medications affect the test results?

Yes, some medications can affect the results of a Rapid Saliva Drug Test.

Certain prescription drugs, over-the-counter remedies, and even herbal supplements may contain compounds that resemble the substances the test detects, potentially leading to a false positive.

For example, some cold medicines, antidepressants, and pain relievers could influence the results.

If you’re currently taking any medications, it’s wise to consider this possibility and follow up with a lab test for a more accurate confirmation if needed.

How is this test compliant with workplace drug testing guidelines?

Our 10-Panel Rapid Saliva Drug Test Kit offers a reliable and efficient way to detect multiple substances, in line with UK workplace drug testing guidelines.

It follows the recommendations set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), which stress the importance of obtaining employee consent and incorporating testing within a comprehensive health and safety policy.

The kit also meets the standards of the European Workplace Drug Testing Society (EWDTS), ensuring accurate and trustworthy results in professional environments.

With these certifications, it serves as a dependable choice for workplace drug screening requirements.

How does this test compare to lab-based drug testing?

The 10-Panel Rapid Saliva Drug Test Kit provides a quick and convenient method for detecting recent drug use, making it ideal for initial screenings at home or in the workplace. While it accurately identifies the presence of substances, its primary focus is on detecting recent use, delivering results within minutes.

In contrast, lab-based drug testing offers a more in-depth analysis, often with exact measurements of detected substances. It’s typically used for confirmatory testing in legal or formal situations where greater accuracy and a longer detection window are essential.

For every day or preliminary screenings, this test kit is a reliable and accessible choice, while laboratory testing remains the preferred option for definitive and legally recognized results.

What’s the best way to collect a saliva sample for accuracy?

For the most precise saliva sample collection, avoid eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum for at least 30 minutes before you intend to take the test.

Follow the simple test kit instructions carefully. Be gentle so as not to damage the skin of the mouth, but be thorough when swabbing to ensure an adequate sample for reliable results.

Is this test single-use, or can it be reused?

The Rapid 10-Panel Saliva Drug Test Kit is intended for one-time use only.

To maintain accuracy and reliability, each test should be used just once. Attempting to reuse the test can lead to inaccurate results. For every new screening, it's essential to use a fresh test kit.
