About this test
For professional use
This test measures uric acid, a compound produced when the body breaks down purines.
Higher levels of uric acid can lead to the formation of crystals in joints, which is the primary cause of gout. It can also indicate underlying metabolic conditions.
Easy to use, the test produces prompt results in two minutes.
The test demonstrated strong agreement with laboratory results, making it suitable for screening and routine monitoring.
Bulk purchasing options are available.

How to use this test
Immerse the strip in the urine sample, ensuring only the test area is submerged, and hold it there for no longer than two seconds.
Gently run the edge of the strip along the rim of the container to remove any excess urine, taking care that the test pads do not touch the rim.
Then, hold the strip sideways and lightly tap it once on an absorbent surface to remove remaining drops. Excess urine may cause chemicals on adjacent pads to mix, which can lead to inaccurate results.
After exactly 120 seconds (2 minutes), hold the strip horizontally and compare the colour of the reagent pads to the chart on the label under good lighting.
Keeping the strip level helps prevent chemical mixing and ensures an accurate reading.
