The test includes 8 additional health parameters to give you a broad picture of your overall health.

Within 2 minutes, this test will accurately detect the presence of ketones or over 100mg/dl of glucose in your blood, which could suggest you’re diabetic.

How to use this test

1
Collect the urine sample
Collect urine in a clean, dry container. Fresh morning urine is recommended for optimal results.

Ensure the sample allows complete immersion of all test strip fields.
2
Prepare the sample
If immediate testing isn't possible, store the urine sample in the refrigerator. Do not freeze.

Bring the sample to room temperature before testing.
3
Dip the test strip
Dip the test strip into the urine up to the test area for no more than two seconds.

Ensure all fields are immersed.
4
Remove excess urine
Draw the edge of the strip along the brim of the container to remove excess urine.

Turn the strip on its side and tap it once on absorbent material to remove any remaining urine.
5
Wait for results
Wait exactly 60 seconds (90-120s for Leukocytes) before interpreting the results.

Ensure the strip is horizontal to prevent chemical mixing from excessive urine.
6
Read your results
After waiting for the required time, compare the colours of each reagent pad with the colour chart provided. Results should be read after 60 seconds and no more than 120 seconds.

If the colour pad is the same as the negative reading on the comparison chart, then no glucose or ketones were detected. If your result is inconclusive or abnormal, repeat with the second strip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this test recommended for?

If you’re experiencing symptoms such as extreme fatigue, increased thirst, or blurred vision, you should take this test to find out if you might be diabetic.

If you’ve got a family history of diabetes, high blood pressure or obesity, take this test to find out if you’re likely to have diabetes too.

Do I need to send my sample to a lab?

No, this test is designed for quick, at-home results, so you won’t need to send your sample to a lab.

After providing a urine sample, this kit provides results in minutes, giving you an indication of your possible diabetes status: no lab required.

How accurate are the results of this test?

When all steps in the instructions are followed correctly, this test provides highly accurate results. However, urine tests can never be as accurate as a blood test.

Therefore, if your symptoms are severe or your results suggest diabetes, please book an appointment with your GP.

What can I do to ensure I get the most accurate results?

Following the instructions correctly will ensure the high accuracy of the test is maintained.

A good tip for ensuring accuracy is to take one of the tests before a meal, and the second test 2 hours afterwards. This will allow you to compare the results.

Why are there 10 parameters on the test strip?

We’ve included 10 unique parameters in this test, all of them measuring a different aspect of your general health. They include protein, nitrite, and PH.

Two of the parameters are specific to checking for diabetes: ketones and glucose. Monitored alongside the other indicators, you’ll get an overall picture of your wellbeing, as well as your diabetes risk.

What are glucose and ketones?

Glucose is the main type of sugar in your blood, and powers most of your bodily functions. When you eat, your body breaks down the food and releases the glucose into your blood. Once your blood glucose levels increase, your pancreas produces insulin to help the glucose enter your body’s cells.

When you’ve got insufficient glucose in your system, your liver produces ketones to help break down fats. They help fuel your body and brain.

Why does having ketones or glucose in your urine suggest diabetes?

Ketones wouldn’t normally be detected in your urine unless you’d been dieting or unwell. If your test suggests there are ketones in your urine, it could mean your body is struggling to produce insulin. If this is the case, you might be diabetic and should seek immediate medical attention.

Glucose is usually excreted by the kidney in small amounts. If there’s more than 100mg/dl in your blood, this is considered abnormal.

If my ketone and glucose levels are high, am I diabetic?

Although this test is highly accurate, a result indicating high ketone or glucose levels should not be taken as diagnosis. You must consult your GP if your test results show high glucose or ketones.

Even if you don’t have diabetes, you should seek advice if your results suggest high glucose or ketone levels.

I accidentally dipped the strip for too long. What should I do?

The optimum time to dip the strip in the urine is 2 to 3 seconds. If the time exceeds 5 seconds, you risk obtaining an inaccurate result. If this happens, we’d recommend carrying out a new test to ensure maximum accuracy.

My result doesn’t indicate diabetes, but I’m still unwell. What should I do?

If you’re still experiencing symptoms such as heightened thirst, blurred vision, extreme tiredness or weight loss, consult a medical professional as soon as possible.

Even if your test result indicates low glucose or ketones, you may have a false negative result. A GP will need to conduct further tests to rule out diabetes or other illnesses.

Could other factors influence my result?

Yes, absolutely. Dehydration, poor diet and certain medications could impact your glucose or ketone levels. To rule out these other factors, we advise seeking medical guidance if your levels are high.
