What comes in this kit?

  • 1 test cassette
  • 1 diluent vial with dropper tip
  • 2 sterile lancets for blood collection
  • 1 pipette for blood sampling
  • 1 antiseptic skin cleanser gauze
  • 1 easy-read instruction manual

How to use this test

  1. 1

    Prepare for the test

Wash your hands thoroughly with hot water and soap, then rinse or dry with the antiseptic cleaning gauze provided.

Open the kit, and lay out the test cassette, pipette, vial, lancet, and alcohol cleaning gauze.

  2. 2

    Prepare the lancet

Without pulling, carefully perform a 360° rotation of the lancing device’s cap, then extract and discard the released cap. Press the lancet against your fingertip (preferably the ring finger). The lancet will retract automatically. Massage your fingertip to form a large drop of blood.

  3. 3

    Collect the blood sample

Use the pipette to collect the blood drop by placing it in contact with the drop. Continue massaging your finger until the blood reaches the black line on the pipette. Open the vial and immediately transfer the blood from the pipette into it.

  4. 4

    Mix the test solution

Press the pipette bulb to ensure all the blood is in the diluent solution. Screw the cap back on and mix well for at least 10 seconds.

  5. 5

    Apply the sample

Unscrew the blue cap of the vial and deposit 2 drops into the well on the test strip case. Wait exactly 5 minutes for the test to develop before reading your results. DO NOT read the result after 6 minutes.

  6. 6

    Read and interpret the results

A coloured line under 'C' (control) indicates a negative result, and the absence of inflammation or infection.

Coloured lines under both C and T1 indicate a CRP value between 10 and 40 mg/l. You may have a viral infection, the onset of a bacterial infection, or inflammation caused by physical trauma. Consult your GP.Coloured lines under C, T1, and T2 indicate a CRP value between 40 and 80 mg/l. You may have a viral or bacterial infection, or be suffering from physical trauma. Consult your GP urgently.

Coloured lines under C, T1, T2 , and T3 indicate a CRP value over 80 mg/l. Consult your GP, as this indicates severe inflammation or trauma.
